Château Paul Mas: the great name of the Languedoc, accessible to all

Château Paul Mas

One of the most emblematic estates of the Languedoc, in Pézenas (Hérault valley). Built on a family history since 1892, developed by Jean-Claude Mas (Domaines Paul Mas, 2000). More than 940 hectares owned, 45 grape varieties, around 40% organic and HVE3. Ranges Paul Mas, Vignes de Nicole, Côté Mas, Réserve and terroir cuvees.

Château Paul Mas is one of the most emblematic estates of the Languedoc. At once rooted in a long family tradition and resolutely turned towards the future, it embodies a modern vision of Southern wine: authentic, generous and accessible to the greatest number, through recognised cuvees such as Paul Mas 1892 Rouge, Paul Mas Merlot and Château Paul Mas Belluguette.

A family history that spans the generations

The adventure began in 1892, when Auguste Mas acquired his first vines. Since then, the passion for wine has been passed down from generation to generation, giving rise to emblematic cuvees such as Paul Mas 1892 Rouge, a direct tribute to this founding history. In 1987, Jean-Claude Mas took over the family vineyard with a strong conviction: the Languedoc can produce great-quality wines without losing its convivial spirit. In 2000, he officially founded the Domaines Paul Mas and became one of the pioneers of the new Languedoc, combining tradition, innovation and mastery of blending, with references that have become essentials such as Château Paul Mas Clos du Moulinas, Paul Mas Réserve Syrah Viognier and the Cuvée Secrète with no added sulphites.

A diversity of terroirs unique in the Languedoc

The Domaines Paul Mas today rest on more than 940 hectares of owned vines, complemented by 1,500 hectares of partner winegrowers. This scale makes it possible to work an exceptional diversity of soils and climates, between Mediterranean influences and the freshness from the hills. The vineyards are spread notably around Conas, the historic cradle, for IGP Pays d'Oc wines such as Paul Mas Viognier, Paul Mas Merlot and Vignes de Nicole; Montagnac, with flagship cuvees such as Vignes de Nicole Cabernet Merlot, Clos du Moulinas and Belluguette; and Caux, dedicated to the great appellations AOP Languedoc, Pézenas, Grès de Montpellier and Terrasses du Larzac, with characterful wines such as Côté Mas Cru Pézenas Terroir Fusionnel. This mosaic of terroirs makes it possible to offer wines with varied profiles, from the most generous to the most structured.

Languedoc wines for every taste and every budget

One of the great strengths of Château Paul Mas is its ability to speak both to curious amateurs and to seasoned enthusiasts, through accessible cuvees such as Côté Mas Rosé Aurore and Côté Mas Bulles de Gewurztraminer, or more structured ones such as Paul Mas Réserve Syrah Viognier. With 45 grape varieties worked, the estate offers a broad, coherent range: expressive reds (Paul Mas 1892 Rouge, Vignes de Nicole Cabernet Syrah and Cabernet Merlot), fresh, aromatic whites (Vignes de Nicole Chardonnay Viognier, Paul Mas Viognier), generous rosés (Côté Mas Rosé Aurore), organic wines and cuvees with no added sulphites (Cuvée Secrète). The reds, often based on Grenache, Syrah or Carignan, develop notes of black fruits, spices and garrigue; the whites charm with their balance, freshness and accessibility.
