Château Bizard: A leading signature of Grignan-les-Adhémar in the Southern Rhône Valley

On the hillsides of Allan, in the Drôme provençale, Château Bizard stands as a benchmark estate of the Grignan-les-Adhémar appellation. Here, the landscape speaks clearly: limestone soils, generous sunshine and the steady mistral wind. Natural elements that shape wines which are precise, expressive and deeply rooted in their terroir.

Founded in 1862, the estate has remained in the hands of the same family ever since. This continuity provides a clear vision: understand the land, respect its natural balance and craft honest wines, free from excess or artifice.

Viticulture guided by common sense and living ecosystems

At Château Bizard, every vineyard decision is made to preserve natural balance. The rows are planted north–south, allowing excellent air circulation thanks to the mistral.

The concrete result: healthier grapes, measured interventions, even ripening and remarkable aromatic purity.

The estate is certified HVE Level 3, reflecting a sustainable, coherent and responsible approach to viticulture, where environmental performance goes hand in hand with high quality standards.

Rhône grape varieties in their purest expression

The vineyard highlights the great Rhône Valley grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache Noir, Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Cinsault.

On these limestone soils, they give rise to structured and elegant reds, aromatic and luminous whites, and dry, refined rosés—always marked by freshness, tension and clear terroir expression.

Precise winemaking in service of expression

The cellar is organized around three separate vat rooms dedicated to red, white and rosé wines. Stainless steel and concrete tanks, all temperature-controlled, ensure clean and perfectly managed fermentations.

The underground aging cellar naturally benefits from stable temperatures and ideal humidity. A calm environment, perfectly suited to long, precise aging without ever forcing the wine.

Barrel aging, a cornerstone of the Château Bizard style

Selected cuvées are aged in oak barrels with carefully controlled proportions. This brings fine, silky tannins, subtle spicy and lightly smoky notes, and a harmonious, persistent structure.

A goldsmith’s work, always serving balance and elegance.
