Rhône Valley WineJean-Luc’s dream, becoming a winemaker, became reality in the 1980s when he owned his first vineyard, a granitic hillside planted with old Syrah vines overlooking the Cornas village. From this, was born the first millesime of Cornas « Les Ruchets » (1987), which becomes a really popular cuvee of the Jean-Luc Colombo wines. The vineyard grows and Jean-Luc can now completely live his passion for wine by following some solid principles : the repsect for the ature and for the different terroirs.

Hand-picked Aged for 12 months in oak barrels. This brilliantly coloured wine has a nose full of ripe red fruit with more floral notes of violet and peppermint. On the palate, there's a fine balance between fruit and spice, and supple but present tannins. This highly aromatic wine is a pleasure to drink.

Vinified in oak barrels for slow fermentation, then aged on lees for 10 to 12 months, depending on the vintage, in oak casks. The wine's golden-yellow color with green highlights gives off intense, gourmet aromas of quince, citrus, hawthorn and sweetbread. Full-bodied, fruity and mineral on the palate. Long and well-balanced on the palate.

Aged 21 months in oak barrels. This cornas, with its deep red color and purplish highlights, reveals aromas of fairly ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, etc.), blending with notes of licorice, cocoa and spices. This is a spicy, opulent wine with fine tannins (powerful but melted) and good length.

This pale yellow wine with golden highlights opens with a floral nose (hawthorn and lime blossom), and greedy fruity notes of white peach and honey (very light). The palate is full-bodied and complex, with powerful aromas.
