The Roussette-de-Savoie is named after a typical region grape variety: the Altesse, also named Roussette.

Some wines can also include some Chardonnay, but the vintages have to be limited to the variety that gives the designation its name. The vines of this designation are located on various terroirs: between various mountains of the area, the Lac du Bourget and the river Usses.

The wines that are produced there are white dry ones, whose typicality is a good ageing potential and a beautiful straw-yellow colour. They reveal their finess and great minerality as well as dried fruits, hazelnuts, and nuts aromas after a few years. The greatest vintages can be kept in a cellar for up to 10 years.
