The AOC Pouilly-Loché vineyard is located in the heart of Burgundy, known for its elegant white wines. This village near Mâcon extends over the Pouilly-Vinzelles appellation area and is part of the winemaking tradition of Mâconnais. Its history, both ancient and marked by the imprint of the Cluniac monks and the rise of Burgundian viticulture, continues today thanks to the expertise of talented winemakers.
Climate: The climate of Pouilly-Loché is continental with a semi-oceanic influence, ensuring a gradual ripening of the grapes.
Soils: The soils are mainly clay-limestone, with variations of marl, giving the wines a remarkable minerality and finesse.
Chardonnay, an inseparable white grape variety of Burgundy wines, reigns supreme within the Pouilly-Loché appellation. It takes full advantage of this terroir to offer white wines that combine richness and precision.
Eye: The AOC Pouilly-Loché white wine adorns itself with a light gold robe.
Nose: On the nose, this white wine develops delicate aromas of flowers (peonies, acacia), white-fleshed fruits (pear, quince, apricot), accompanied by subtle notes of hazelnut and beeswax.
Palate: On the palate, Pouilly-Loché is generous yet balanced. It presents a beautiful roundness supported by lively acidity that prolongs the tasting with lemony notes and a beautiful minerality.
Serving Temperature: 10°C to 12°C.
Aging Potential: Although they can be enjoyed young to appreciate their freshness, these white wines also have a good aging potential of 5 to 10 years (depending on the vintage and the estate).
