A Corbieres winegrowing family for five generations
The story of Château de Saint Eutrope passes from one generation to the next. For five generations, the family has grown vines in Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse, in the heart of the Corbieres. After more than twenty-five years making wine in a cooperative cellar, Olivier decided in 1995 to take over the family estate with his brother Jean-Louis, to strike out on their own and sign their own wines at last.
Today the fifth generation steps in: Émilie and Maxime Verdale join Olivier and Jean-Louis to write the next chapter. Together they keep a family know-how alive and share, with genuine simplicity, their passion for the vine and for wine. It is this continuity, five generations devoted to a single terroir, that gives the estate's wines their authenticity.

The Boutenac terroir, in the heart of the Corbieres
Château de Saint Eutrope spreads its 42 hectares of vines around Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse, in the very heart of the Corbieres, in the Aude backcountry. Part of the vineyard lies on the Boutenac terroir, the only cru of the Corbieres appellation, prized for the power and finesse of its great red wines.
Under the sun and the tramontane wind, this vineyard of garrigue scrubland and clay-limestone soils yields wines of character, authentic and true to their terroir. This mosaic of plots lets the family offer a full range, from a lively white to a red built for ageing, by way of the rosé.

Since taking over the estate, the family has farmed its vineyard with respect for the living world. Château de Saint Eutrope is certified High Environmental Value (HVE), the most demanding level of the French environmental certification for farms. It guarantees a light footprint on the land: protection of biodiversity, measured fertilisation, and careful management of treatments and water.
In the cellar, the spirit is the same as in the vines: let the terroir speak. The reds undergo long macerations and tank ageing that preserves the purity of the fruit; the whites and rosés are vinified to keep all their freshness and brightness. August 2025: after the Corbieres wildfire, hope rises again
In August 2025, the largest wildfire the Corbieres massif had seen in decades swept through nearly 17,000 hectares of scrubland and vines around Saint-Laurent-de-la-Cabrerisse. Château de Saint Eutrope was among the estates hit hard, to the point of facing a year with no harvest.
Faced with this ordeal, the Verdale family chose to answer through wine. They created L'Ogre des Corbieres, a solidarity cuvee born of urgency, meant to help save the estate and keep a whole family's passion alive. Ordering it directly on Avenue des Vins means taking a concrete part in the estate's rebuilding and standing by its rebirth.

Maximus

The estate's flagship, one of its most distinguished cuvees. Beneath a deep, dark colour it reveals a generous bouquet of candied cherry, cocoa and violet, lifted by a hint of spice. The palate is all velvet: a silky texture, intact freshness and fine, almost slender tannins, before a minty finish that signs the great Corbieres. Tank-aged to preserve the purity of the fruit, it is a red for ageing, to open with game, a fine grilled cut or a slow-cooked dish.
La Cuvée d'Émilie
Corbieres-Boutenac red - the cru of the Corbieres
The cru cuvee, the one that bears the name Émilie. Drawn from the estate's finest plots on the Boutenac terroir, the only cru of the Corbieres, it stands out for its finesse, balance and great elegance. L'Instant
