Château Le Noble
33750 St Germain du Puch - Bordeaux
Now to the Entre-Deux-Mers region, to Château Le Noble in Saint-Germain du Puch, on the left bank of the Dordogne between Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion. This family vineyard, established in 1820, is made up of around 30 hectares. Converted to organic production, it is south-facing on a clay-limestone terroir with gravelly hillsides. An ideal setting for Bordeaux varieties: Merlot, Cabernet-Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon for red wines and Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle for the white.
Thomas and Maria Mercedes Bonnefon, the fifth generation of owner-winegrowers, subtly combine traditional wine-making methods learnt from their ancestors, with cutting-edge technology. They pay particular attention to treating the soil and aim for excellence in the quality rather than the quantity of the yield. They have slow, gentle vinification processes, to preserve the grape aromas. Thanks to these organic production methods that respect the vine, they have created the Château le Noble style: an elegant expression of the terroir with round, shaped, unctuous wines that are well-structured.
