Sigoulès Cooperative Cellar – The Living Terroir of Bergerac and the Soul of an Exceptional Winery

In the heart of the Dordogne Valley, the Bergerac terroir reveals a mosaic of soils and landscapes that make the pride of South-West winemakers. Here, the vines thrive among clay-limestone soils, loam, sand and a gentle oceanic influence, creating ideal conditions to craft expressive, honest wines deeply rooted in their land. It is within this privileged environment that the Sigoulès Cooperative Cellar flourishes, a true regional pillar bringing together 57 winegrowers across nearly 963 hectares of vineyards.

A Generous Terroir: Bergerac’s Identity in Every Glass

The diversity of soils and the influence of the Dordogne allow winegrowers to cultivate a wide palette of grape varieties, each offering its own aromatic signature. From this richness comes a complete range of wines: elegant and structured reds, gourmet rosés, bright dry whites, and delicate semi-sweet wines — each telling the story of Bergerac’s gentle lifestyle and complex terroir.

Every cuvée produced by the Sigoulès Cooperative expresses the subtle balance between the power of the South-West and the finesse shaped by its temperate climate.

A Human Story: From 1938 to Today

The Sigoulès Cooperative Cellar is more than a production site — it is a collective adventure. Founded in 1938 by a group of visionary winegrowers, it has crossed decades while staying true to its founding values: solidarity, commitment, and passion for the craft.

Today, the third generation continues this work with the same energy, integrating modern advances in viticulture. Since 1991, a rigorous quality monitoring of grapes has been ensured in collaboration with certified organizations. These efforts have earned the cooperative major certifications such as ISO 9001, guaranteeing quality, and HACCP, ensuring traceability and food safety.

This technical rigor gives the wines consistent quality, appreciated by enthusiasts and professionals alike.

A Strong Environmental Commitment: Preserving Today to Pass On Tomorrow

The Sigoulès Cooperative has placed sustainability at the heart of its model. It is certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Organic Agriculture for certain parcels through ECOCERT.

These approaches go far beyond labels: they reflect a desire to protect soils, wildlife and flora, while crafting clean wines that respect nature. Whether through reduced inputs, biodiversity preservation or supporting winegrowers in their ecological transition, the cooperative stands out for its rare and sincere environmental awareness.

An Engaged Cooperative, a Family Spirit

The Sigoulès Cooperative Cellar operates as a true solidarity-based community. Every winegrower finds support, guidance and collaboration within an atmosphere of equality and transparency. This cohesion is felt in the wines themselves: sincere, generous, true to their land and to those who cultivate it.
