FAQ - Wine for Valentine's Day
Which wine should you choose for a Valentine's dinner?
It depends on your menu and the mood you want to set. For a full meal, a Saint-Amour with its red fruit aromas adds a playful romantic nod, while a Champagne or sparkling wine brings a festive touch. Match the wine to the dish as much as to the moment.
Which wine goes with foie gras on Valentine's night?
A sweet wine such as Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh pairs beautifully with foie gras. Château du Pouey's L'Aydasse cuvée, creamy and full of yellow fruit aromas, works just as well with foie gras as with end-of-meal pastries.
Which wine pairs with a red fruit tart?
A soft Champagne with red fruit notes is a lovely match for a red fruit dessert. Champagne Duménil's Amour de Cuvée, with its blackcurrant, gooseberry and wild strawberry aromas, gently echoes the flavours of the tart.
Which Champagne should you offer for Valentine's Day?
Champagne Duménil's Amour de Cuvée lives up to its name for the occasion. Fine mousse, graceful bubbles and notes of red fruit and toasted almond make it an ideal bottle to share, delivered with an individual red case.
Why buy your Valentine's wine directly from the winemaker?
Ordering direct from the winemaker means you pay the property price set at the estate, with no middleman. You also enjoy the small touches our winemakers add, such as a card, a red bow or a little golden heart on the label.
