What is the history of the estate?

A family rooted in Burgundy since 1595

I joined the family estate in 2000 after earning a degree in oenology and completing an internship in the Côtes du Rhône. I always wanted to take over the management of the family estate,

says Fabrice. Today, with the help of 6 employees, the winemaker manages the family vineyard.

How did the negociant business come about?

Partnership with the former Hospices de Beaune manager

In parallel, Fabrice established a negociant company with his uncle, Roland Masse, former manager of Domaine des Hospices de Beaune.

We teamed up in 2014 to create a small negociant business through which we market our cuvées. This company has allowed us to find clients and purchase grapes from nearby vineyards,

explains Fabrice.

How does the domaine work its vineyards today?

Young wines in tune with the times

Today, Domaine Masse Père et Fils covers 14 hectares and produces approximately 130,000 bottles annually. The vines are cultivated using sustainable practices, and harvests are partially done by hand. With Roland’s help, Fabrice collaborates with local winemakers to purchase grapes for vinification in the Givry appellation.

This appellation holds a special place for Fabrice, as the first parcel of Domaine Masse Père et Fils was in Givry.

This method has allowed us to address our shortfall in white wine production,

explains the winemaker.

For red wines, Fabrice is committed to producing smooth, fruity, and elegant wines from the Mercurey and Montagny Premier Cru appellations.

These terroirs have all the qualities we seek in our red wines: young wines in tune with the times,

notes the winemaker, who hopes to replant some vineyard parcels in the near future.
