How did the estate come into being?

A family legacy

Domaine de Laxé is a family estate established in 1962 by the grandfather of the current vintners. Arriving from Oran, Algeria, Désiré Estrade undertook a monumental task to create this vineyard with his own hands: clearing the land, planting the vines, and building the winery.

He passed this passion on to his sons and grandsons, Rémy and Éric, who now manage the estate. Building on solid foundations, the new generation blends tradition with modernity in their vineyard work. As a result, the estate offers wines with very different profiles: light, powerful, and premium cuvées. Domaine de Laxé has been transitioning to organic farming since 2018, and the 2021 vintage will be Ecocert certified. The Estrade brothers enjoy sharing their passion and are also developing wine tourism to introduce their work to a broader audience.
