High-Quality Gascogne Wines: Tradition and Innovation
In 1962, Désiré Estrade, along with his sons, migrated from Lamtar near Oran in Algeria to Fourcès, where they laid the foundations for what the Domaine de Laxé is today. Through dedication, they cleared the land, replanted the entire vineyard, and built cellars, crafting a legacy of independent winemaking in Gascogne. Today, Rémy and Eric Estrade honor this heritage, producing high-quality Gascogne wines that blend tradition with modernity. With the same determination as their grandfather, they continue to elevate the Domaine de Laxé, raising wines in their cellars and sharing them worldwide.
Our vineyard spans 90 hectares over clay-limestone plateaus and slopes, an ideal environment that supports consistency across both dry and wet years. This part of Gascogne enjoys a temperate climate with balanced rainfall—ideal for grape cultivation—while sunny autumns allow us to refine grape maturity and harvest under perfect conditions.
A Coveted Terroir in Gascogne
The area between Montréal-du-Gers, Condom, and Mézin boasts one of the most beautiful and sought-after terroirs, capable of producing not only pleasurable wines but also prestigious Gascogne whites and reds. Our vineyard cultivates iconic southwest varietals like Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, and Tannat, complemented by world-renowned grapes such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. These varieties form our diverse range, from Classic and Original Cuvées to our Premium Oak-Aged Selections that promise both pleasure and aging potential.
From the vine to the bottle, we strive to deliver the finest quality for your enjoyment, bringing the richness of our terroir to wine lovers worldwide.
