4 special Valentine's Day vintages to offer your other half
Special Valentine’s Day Wines: Champagne, Red, Rosé, and More to Delight Your Loved One
1) “Pur White”
Château Les Amoureuses, IGP Méditerranée
Direct from the property price: €39.60
At Château Les Amoureuses, everything (or almost everything) refers to love. The name of the estate, of course, but especially the partnership between Florence and Jean-Pierre Bedel, a passionate couple who run this Languedoc vineyard hand in hand.
Crafted from Viognier, the “Pur White” dry white wine boasts a suave, concentrated nose of vanilla, almond, crème brûlée, and white flowers. On the palate, it reveals a beautiful structure with great freshness on the finish.
Winemaker’s advice: “This wine is ideally enjoyed with white fish and lobster.”
2) “Le Fornas”
Château Bizard, AOC
Direct from the property price: €8.00
“Wine fosters dialogue, encourages sharing, invites us to listen, see, smell, savor… what a wonderful profession that of a winemaker!” Marc, owner of Château Bizard, has a genuine passion for wine. The result of this love is the “Le Fornas” wine, with a round and silky mouthfeel, featuring aromas of figs, prune compote combined with oregano and a hint of licorice stick. This wine beautifully expresses Grenache, making it a superb choice for indulgence.
Winemaker’s advice: “Serve with lamb chops or a chicken tagine with preserved lemons, ideal dishes for a Valentine’s Day meal.”
3) “Amour de Cuvée” Blend
Champagne Duménil, AOC Champagne
Direct from the property price: €58.00
With such a name and a red label, it’s evident that this cuvée from Champagne Duménil was designed with a 100% Valentine’s Day spirit. Not to mention, it’s Champagne, the quintessential wine of lovers’ celebrations. With its fine mousse and graceful bubbles, this Champagne reveals an elegant nose of toasted almonds, quince, and mirabelle plums.
Winemaker’s advice: “Soft and elegant on the palate, it will be perfect to accompany the delicious red fruit tart you’ll make for your sweetheart!”
4) “Elle & Lui Rosé” 2015
Domaine d’Hondrat, AOC Languedoc
Direct from the property price: €15.00
The bottle looks like a perfume flask… yet it contains wine. Presented in a recycled Martinique rum bottle, this delicate cuvée was lovingly crafted by Romain and Caroline Vigroux, both owners of Domaine d’Hondrat. The rosé wine offers aromas of lychees and citrus fruits on the nose. The palate is balanced with a fine, delicate acidity combining freshness and elegance.
Winemaker’s advice: “This delightful wine is perfect with fish, grilled meat, or simply as an aperitif.”

FAQ - Valentine's Day cuvées
Which wine should you give for Valentine's Day?
It depends on the moment and your loved one's taste. For a romantic dinner, a Champagne like Amour de Cuvée from Champagne Duménil is a natural choice. A suave white, an indulgent red or a delicate rosé also make lovely gifts, depending on the menu.
Which Champagne should you choose for Valentine's Day?
Amour de Cuvée from Champagne Duménil was designed in a fully Valentine's spirit, with its red label and a nose of toasted almonds, quince and mirabelle plums. Its fine mousse and graceful bubbles make it an ideal wine to toast as a couple.
What budget should you plan for a Valentine's Day wine?
Our selection ranges from €8 for the Le Fornas cuvée by Château Bizard to €58 for Champagne Duménil, all at property price. So you can find a love-message bottle whatever your budget.
Which rosé wine makes a good Valentine's gift?
The Elle & Lui rosé from Domaine d'Hondrat, presented in a recycled Martinique rum bottle that looks like a perfume flask, offers aromas of lychee and citrus. Its balanced, fresh and elegant palate pairs with fish, grilled meat or an aperitif.
Why buy your Valentine's Day wine directly from the winemaker?
Buying direct from the winemaker means you pay the property price, with no middleman margin, and you support independent estates like Château Les Amoureuses or Domaine d'Hondrat. You give a more confidential cuvée, often unavailable in supermarkets.
