AOC Picpoul de Pinet
In the south of France, the sun-drenched Languedoc-Roussillon vineyard stretches over more than 240,000 hectares, from Nîmes to Leucate (Aude), making it one of the largest wine regions in the world. Among its appellations is the AOC Picpoul de Pinet. The area covered by this AOC includes six communes north of the city of Sète (Castelnau-de-Guers, Florensac, Mèze, Montagnac, Pinet, and Pomérols), spanning around 2,400 hectares of predominantly clay-limestone soils. Exclusively planted with Picpoul vines and subject to the Mediterranean climate of the region, this appellation produces dry white wines. These wines are lively and express aromas of citrus and flowers, pairing perfectly with the local oysters from the Thau Lagoon.
