The Beaujolais extends over 18,000 hectares. Beaujolais wines come from a single grape variety, the Gamay. The wines of the Beaujolais appellation can be produced by all the towns of the Beaujolas vineyards, in the departments of the Rhône and the Saône-et-Loire. The wines produced are 97% red and rosé, and 3% white. Beaujolais wines have twelve appellations, : ten crus, Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages. Beaujolais essentially produces red wines. In recent years, an average of 1 million hectolitres of wine are produced in Beaujolais. The appellation brings together six different products : Beaujolais Blanc, Beaujolais Rosé, Beaujolais Rosé new or primeur, Beaujolais rouge, Beaujolais rouge new or primeur and Beaujolais superior.

CHATEAU DURETTE

Very soon after acquiring the property in March 2007, Jean Joly decided to create the SCEA (civil agricultural company) "Château de Durette" with the idea of producing his own wine... A completely new vat room, better located with regard to the road, was built and completely equipped with modern equipment (stainless steel vats). Today we work a 30 ha area, spread over the different appellations.Château de Durette offers seven Beaujolais + Beaujolais Blanc, Beaujolais Villages Rosé, Méthode Traditionnelle Crus. Each of these wines has its characteristics, even though they are all from the same Beaujolais family: fragrant, flavoursome, structured, full-bodied.
