The château's fame was already well-established from around 1770 : For ten years the owner reported his activities, which earned him the nickname "the variety king".king The estate was returned into the onwnership of the family of Général de Moncets in 1872. As a result of plenty of patience, a continuous estate was formed at the intersection of four vineyards with prestigious crus; : Montagne, Néac, Saint-Emilion and Pomerol.
