Domaine Les Cassagnes - the soul of a family vineyard at the heart of the Languedoc

Domaine Les Cassagnes

A family Limoux estate (Roger family), 50 ha of organic and HVE vines, over Gardie, Villebazy and Saint-Hilaire. Blanquette and Cremant de Limoux, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.

A story of family and winegrowing passion. For several generations, Domaine Les Cassagnes has carried on an authentic winegrowing tradition, handed down from father to son within the Roger family. In the heart of the Limoux terroir, for more than forty years, Jean Roger worked on the restructuring of the vineyard; today, his son Thomas Roger carries on the adventure with a vision turned towards the future, founded on respect for nature, organic conversion and HVE certification.

The estate now extends over 50 hectares of vines and 8 hectares of fields, spread over the villages of Gardie, Villebazy and Saint-Hilaire, a historic terroir where, in 1531, the Benedictine monks discovered the world's first sparkling wine: Blanquette de Limoux.

A Mediterranean terroir between sea and mountain

Domaine Les Cassagnes benefits from a unique location, at the crossroads of Mediterranean and oceanic influences, between Carcassonne and the foothills of the Pyrenees. This ideal climate, with hot, dry summers tempered by cool nights, offers a perfect temperature range for growing noble grapes such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The regular winds naturally cleanse the vines, limiting treatments and allowing a viticulture respectful of biodiversity. This terroir, at once generous and demanding, gives birth to balanced, expressive wines of great aromatic purity.

An ecological and responsible approach

For several decades, the estate has practised a reasoned agriculture, favouring natural inputs and organic fertilisers from local resources. In 2017, Les Cassagnes joined a GIEE (Economic and Environmental Interest Group) to strengthen their commitment: local organic fertilisers, active protection of bees and pollinators, maintenance of biodiversity in the plots and maximum reduction of phytosanitary products. In January 2018, the entire vineyard entered organic conversion; after three years of transition, the estate now produces certified organic wines, healthy and accessible to all, without ever giving up quality or the identity of the terroir.

Authentic wines inspired by the family

Blanquette Les Cassagnes

AOC Blanquette de Limoux - sparkling

The emblematic Limoux sparkling: elegance and finesse, delicate bubbles in the lineage of the world's first sparkling wine, born in Saint-Hilaire in 1531.

Crémant de Limoux « Mots-Croisés »

AOC Crémant de Limoux - sparkling

Fine bubbles and a delicate expression of the fruit; also in a Rosé Crémant, a subtle balance between freshness and indulgence.

La Moto de Papi

AOC Limoux - red

A powerful, refined red, a family tribute: the richness of a Mediterranean red crafted organically.

Each cuvee carries a story, a nod to those who shaped the estate: the Cremant Rosé Mots-Croises, Les Sarcophages de Pech (with wax), La Casquette de Papa, Le Polo Rosé and the signature cuvee Fruit du Temps, a blend of terroir and artisanal know-how.

A sustainable commitment, for today and for tomorrow

The philosophy of Domaine Les Cassagnes rests on three pillars: to preserve the land and the landscapes of Limoux, to respect biodiversity and future generations, and to share sincere, accessible wines full of life. This humanist and ecological vision makes the estate a player in the winegrowing renewal of the Languedoc, where quality goes hand in hand with sustainability.

Do you prefer the fine bubbles of an organic Blanquette or Crémant de Limoux, or the richness of an organically crafted Mediterranean red?
