Domaine Geneletti: the soul of Jura wines shaped by heritage, terroir and character
A deeply rooted family story. In the heart of the Jura, Domaine Geneletti tells a story passed down from generation to generation. In 1976, Michel Geneletti took over the estate from his grandmother, Madame veuve Dufort. Two decades later, in 1997, his son David joined the adventure, bringing fresh energy and a modern vision to the estate. This family continuity has forged a true signature: a domaine where tradition and renewal meet in every bottle.
A unique terroir, a rare diversity
The Jura is a land of contrasts, ancient limestone, star-shaped fossils and dramatic landscapes. Domaine Geneletti expresses this singularity through a range that reflects the richness of the appellation:
- – Côtes du Jura in white, red and rosé, with the vibrant character typical of Jura terroirs.
- – L’Étoile, an elegant white wine born from soils rich in pentacrines, the star-shaped marine fossils.
- – Vin Jaune, the Jura’s iconic treasure, aged for over 6 years without topping up, including the prestigious Château-Chalon presented in its emblematic 62 cl clavelin.
- – Vin de Paille, an enchanting sweet wine made from grapes selected one by one.
- – Macvin, the jewel among France’s appellations, combining delicacy and intensity.
Since 2005, the domaine has also been producing Arbois wines, expanding the palette of Jura expressions even further.
A welcoming place steeped in history
Domaine Geneletti welcomes visitors in Château-Chalon, one of the most beautiful villages in France, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Seille Valley. This spectacular setting has inspired writers, Benedictine nuns, and even the film crew of L’Espagnol, partly shot in the family home.
In L’Étoile, the domaine’s second tasting location, you will walk on limestone soils dotted with the famous pentacrines, fossil witnesses of the region’s ancient seabed. A single walk is enough to understand why the wines grown here develop such strong character.
A domaine that embodies the spirit of the Jura
Here, every wine tells a story: a story of patience, long cycles, harsh winters and radiant summers. The Geneletti family preserves this intimate connection between nature and craftsmanship, giving life to authentic, pure cuvées marked by the unmistakable identity of the Jura.
