Château des Bertrands is located near Cannet-des-Maures, within the Plaine des Maures Nature Reserve. The estate spans 200 hectares, including approximately 80 hectares of vineyards at the foot of the Maures massif, in a Natura 2000 zone.

Château des Bertrands is a historic estate in Provence. Originally a hunting lodge, it gradually transformed into a wine estate thanks to the hard work of passionate vintners who began planting vines in 1964. The estate’s coat of arms beautifully represents this passion for the terroir, the love of wine, and the history of the château. In recent years, the current owners have been dedicating their efforts to restore the estate’s former glory. Renovations of the old Bastide of Château des Bertrands have enabled the building to once again welcome visitors and introduce them to the estate’s wines.

Château des Bertrands benefits from a privileged location in the heart of a protected natural area. The Plaine des Maures is a hilly landscape, and the estate is situated at the lowest point of this plain, in a geological basin. Some of the vineyard plots are even below sea level!

The estate’s vines thrive on land with a very unique geology that dates back over 500 million years with the formation of the Maures massif. The sandy-gravelly soil imparts a distinctive character to the wines produced by Château des Bertrands.

To respect this green haven, the estate is working to convert all 80 hectares of its vineyards to organic farming. Mediterranean winds and the sunshine of the Côte d’Azur benefit the vines, which produce high-quality wines with great personality each year.
