Portraits of winemakers
Domaine Lacour, Côtes-du-Couchois: father and son, 14 hectares and 10 Burgundy appellations
Domaine Lacour is a family estate at the heart of the Côtes-du-Couchois, just a stone's throw from the Côte-de-Beaune. Fabrice and his son Antonin work side by side across 14 hectares of vines passed down since their great-grandfather, producing 10 different Burgundy appellations. Their Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune rouge and their full range are available direct from the producer on Avenue des Vins.

How would you describe Domaine Lacour?
A family estate at the heart of the Côtes-du-Couchois, on the doorstep of the Côte-de-Beaune
Some estates are best told through their geography. The Côtes-du-Couchois, on the edge of the Côte-de-Beaune: that is where the Lacour family tends its vines, day after day, from father to son.
It all began with 3 hectares, those of the great-grandfather, still in production today. Over the years, parcel by parcel, the vineyard grew to reach 14 hectares. Enough to produce 10 different Burgundy appellations, the signature of a terroir patiently assembled, where Fabrice and Antonin work together every single day.
My father and I work every day on our family estate.
When did wine get into your blood?
Born into the vines: a calling that needs no explaining
Some winemakers remember a turning point. For Antonin, there never was one: the vines were there before he was. As a child, he spent his weekends and school holidays between the rows, alongside his parents.
Let's be honest, I was born to be a winemaker!
The family legend, which he tells with a smile, says it all: every year, during harvest week, he would "fall ill" and have to skip school to recover, conveniently, in the cellar or aboard a tractor. A calling that cannot be taught. It can only be lived.
What philosophy guides your work in the vineyard and the cellar?
Give your best so the vines can give their best
Antonin's philosophy fits into a single sentence, stated plainly. No lengthy discourse: a daily commitment, laid down on the vines like a promise.
Give the best of myself so that my vines give the best grapes.
Everything flows from there. This simple logic runs through every gesture, from pruning to harvest, and finds its way into every bottle the estate produces.
What memory at the estate has stayed with you most?
The first parcel, a pride carved into memory
One might expect a great vintage or an unforgettable harvest. The memory that has stayed with Antonin most is more personal: the purchase of his very first parcel.
Buying my first parcel remains a moment of immense pride carved inside me.
A milestone that says everything about a winemaker who does not settle for inheriting, but who builds, parcel by parcel, the estate of tomorrow.
Which wine best represents Domaine Lacour?
The Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune rouge: precise, fruity, generous
If a single wine had to tell the story of the estate, Antonin's choice is immediate: the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune rouge.
Made from Pinot Noir, his heart grape, it is a wine that is precise, fruity and generous. Three words that say what matters most and sum up the spirit of the house: generosity in the service of finesse.
Precise, fruity, generous.
Above all, it is a wine for sharing. Antonin loves to enjoy it "at the table with friends, or without a table, with friends," his way of reminding us that what really matters is the company. In winter, it is the bottle he reaches for to warm a reunion; come summer, he happily turns to a Coteaux Bourguignons rosé instead.
What are your ambitions for the years ahead?
Growing the estate without betraying what makes it genuine
Antonin's plans are clear and true to the family spirit: to develop direct sales and build a warm, honest wine tourism offering, welcoming enthusiasts the way you welcome friends. On the vineyard side, he is committed to soil management that limits erosion, an approach to the terroir built to last.
Growing a family legacy also means knowing what is worth preserving. That is perhaps the most fitting definition of the word he chooses to describe his estate: genuine.
