In north-western France, the Loire vineyards stretch from the Massif Central to Nantes, covering some 70,000 hectares of vines. It is famous for its Chinon, Bourgueil and Pouilly-Fumé appellations, among others. The IGP Val de Loire appellation area covers 14 départements and just over 4,500 hectares of vines. The white, rosé and red wines of this appellation are known for their great diversity, reflecting the characteristics of both the terroir in which they are produced and the grape varieties used in their production.
