Clos du Marbrier, the organic soul of Caunes-Minervois by Irène Prioton
Le Clos du Marbrier
An organic estate in Caunes-Minervois (Aude), nestled in a medieval village at the foot of the Montagne Noire. A former marble workshop transformed into an artisanal cellar by winegrower Irene Prioton. High-altitude vines, certified organic since 2001. Minervois, Minervois La Liviniere and Mains Libres cuvees.
Le Clos du Marbrier, nestled in the medieval village of Caunes-Minervois, carries within it all the soul of its territory. Once a marble-cutter's workshop, the place was transformed into an artisanal cellar by Irene Prioton, a passionate winegrower. Each cuvee is vinified with care, respecting tradition and a constant quest for quality. The vines flourish on high-altitude plots, at the foot of the Minervois mountains: an ideal microclimate, combining freshness and sunshine, which reveals the aromatic purity and natural elegance of the wines.
A unique terroir between mountains and Mediterranean
The estate's vines flourish on high-altitude plots, at the foot of the Minervois mountains. This privileged location offers an ideal microclimate, combining freshness and sunshine, which reveals the aromatic purity and natural elegance of the wines. Altitude and the diversity of the soils, from schist to high-lying terroirs, make it possible to produce complex cuvees marked by minerality and finesse. It is this altitude signature that runs through every wine, from the rosé to the great reds of Minervois La Liviniere.
Organic farming at the heart of the project, since 2001
Since 2001, Le Clos du Marbrier has been committed to respectful, certified organic viticulture. This strong choice reflects a will to preserve biodiversity and limit environmental impact, while offering wines that faithfully express the identity of the terroir. One plot of the A Main Levee rosé is in conversion, in the same sustainable approach.

The wines of Le Clos du Marbrier
The range, entirely organic, reads like a journey at altitude. In red, A Pleine Main (Mourvedre, Syrah, Grenache Noir) is the flagship cuvee; Miss Terre (Syrah majority) plays on intensity; Le Chouchou (Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache Noir) is floral and spicy; A Main Levee Rouge (Cinsault, Grenache Noir) stays supple and convivial. The great Minervois La Liviniere reds, Haute Main and La-Haut, express the schists. In white, Le Blanc de la Montagne Noire (Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Roussanne, Petite Arvine) and Mains Libres Blanc (400 m altitude) play on minerality. Not forgetting the A Main Levee rosé, the rare Mains Libres Rouge (Castets) and the bold Mains Libres Orange.
