Les Vins Laurent Bellion: four generations of passion in the heart of the Rhône Valley

Les Vins Laurent Bellion

An independent winegrower in Séguret, in the Rhône Valley. A family story since 1919, four generations, nearly 37,000 bottles a year from the Séguret terroir. Certified HVE (2020) and in organic conversion since 2024, awarded by Decanter, Parker and the RVF.

A story of family and transmission. For more than a century, the Bellion family has cultivated the vine with exemplary constancy. It all began in 1919 with Louis Bellion, Laurent's great-grandfather. In 2000, after his studies, Laurent Bellion took over the family estate alone with a clear vision: to showcase the terroir and create characterful wines reflecting his identity and commitment.

From cooperative cellar to independent winemaking

Until 2011, the estate's grapes were delivered to the cooperative cellar. But year after year, the desire to create his own wine grew. After obtaining an oenology certificate at the Université du Vin in Suze-la-Rousse in 2009, Laurent seized a unique opportunity: to vinify his harvest in a partner cellar equipped with shared facilities. Thus in 2011 the first bottles of Les Vins Laurent Bellion were born. Since then, the estate has structured itself, obtained approval for bottling at the property and today produces nearly 37,000 bottles a year, all from the Séguret terroir.

A responsible viticulture turned towards the future

True to his terroir and a demanding environmental ethic, Laurent Bellion has committed the estate to sustainable viticulture. In 2020, Les Vins Laurent Bellion obtained High Environmental Value (HVE) certification. And from September 2024, the estate officially began organic conversion, confirming its wish to produce healthy, living wines that respect nature. In parallel, Laurent keeps an olive grove to produce an artisanal olive oil sold directly, a symbol of his attachment to the land.

A winegrower acclaimed by the critics

Named Young Wine Talent of the Rhône Valley in 2015, recommended by Decanter, rated above 90 points by Robert Parker, Decanter and Wine Enthusiast: Laurent Bellion embodies the future of the independent winegrowers of the Rhône. The La Source cuvee was selected three times by Le Petit Ballon, and the Laurent Bellion Blanc rated 14.5/20 by La Revue du Vin de France.
