Domaine des Vallettes: Eight Generations of Passion in the Loire Terroirs
For eight generations, the Jamet family has cultivated vines in Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, preserving ancestral know-how along the banks of the Loire River. The Domaine des Vallettes, a 20-hectare family estate, is now a key player in the appellation, producing around 180,000 bottles each year of authentic and expressive wines.
A Vineyard Rooted in Three Loire Appellations
The estate spans three complementary geographic areas:
Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil (20 ha): Vines planted on alluvial terraces made up of sand and gravel, producing fruity, supple, and generous wines.
Bourgueil (3 ha): Plots located on south-facing clay-limestone slopes, giving structure, depth, and aging potential to the wines.
Anjou (3 ha): Also on sandy and gravelly soils near the Loire, resulting in wines with a light and aromatic profile.
Cabernet Franc, the Signature Grape Variety
The entire vineyard is planted with Cabernet Franc, the region's signature grape, perfectly suited to the Loire terroirs. It expresses the nuances of soil and climate with elegance, offering a rich diversity of styles depending on grape origin.
A Family Production Committed to the Land
Driven by a hands-on, environmentally conscious approach, Domaine des Vallettes highlights the identity of each plot to craft wines that reflect the richness of the soil and the family’s heritage. Each bottle is the result of meticulous work, where tradition meets innovation to showcase the very best of Loire Valley Cabernet Franc.
