Domaine de la Perdrix – Authentic Wines from Roussillon, Between Sea and Mountains

A Family Estate Rooted in Catalan History. Located in Trouillas, in the heart of the Aspres, Domaine de la Perdrix has cultivated an exceptional vineyard since 1811, now spanning 45 hectares just 15 km south of Perpignan. Passed down through generations, it has been run since 1997 by André and Virginie Gil, who revived the estate by vinifying and aging their own cuvées starting with the 2000 vintage.

A Rare Terroir Between the Mediterranean and Canigou

The vines of Domaine de la Perdrix thrive on a mosaic of soils composed of rolled pebbles, clay, and schist, bathed in the Mediterranean climate of the Aspres. The intense daytime heat is tempered by the tramontane wind and the cool nights from the Pyrenees, creating ideal conditions for grape ripening.

These naturally low yields give birth to concentrated, complex, and elegant wines with excellent aging potential.

Parcel-Based Vinification to Reveal Wine Identity

Each plot is vinified separately to highlight the uniqueness of its terroir. Blending is then carried out with precision to create balanced and expressive cuvées, true reflections of Roussillon.

The estate produces both still wines and Vins Doux Naturels (VDN) under the AOP Côtes du Roussillon, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, and Rivesaltes appellations.

A Vineyard Committed to Biodiversity and Organics

Domaine de la Perdrix is surrounded by garrigue, forests, olive trees, and cork oaks. This unique natural environment inspires a respectful viticulture: gentle plowing, organic amendments, manual harvesting, and limited treatments.

Since 2018, the estate has been in organic conversion, affirming its commitment to producing wines that respect both the land and living ecosystems.
