Domaine de L’Ecette – Burgundian Elegance in the Heart of the Côte Chalonnaise

An Exceptional Terroir in Burgundy. Located in Rully, on the renowned Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine de L’Ecette passionately cultivates the art of traditional Burgundian winemaking. Benefiting from clay-limestone soils and ideal sun exposure, the estate showcases Burgundy’s two signature grape varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Here, they express themselves with finesse, giving rise to balanced, elegant, and authentic wines that truly reflect their terroir.

Winemaking follows traditional Burgundian methods, enhanced by modern techniques that ensure precise control over fermentation and aging. This expertise combines heritage, accuracy, and high standards to produce harmonious, characterful wines.

A Family Story and a Growing Estate

The story of Domaine de L’Ecette began in 1983 when Jean Daux settled in Rully and cultivated 9 hectares of vines. His son Vincent took over in 1997 after studying viticulture, bringing new energy to the estate. Under his leadership, the vineyard expanded to 18 hectares, with 67% planted in white and 33% in red grapes.

This growth was accompanied by the creation of the “Domaine de L’Ecette” brand, now recognized for the quality and consistency of its wines. The estate sells directly to private customers, wine shops, restaurants, and distributors. Each bottle is produced exclusively from estate-grown grapes, ensuring authenticity and full traceability.

Tasting and Oenological Experience

To further your discovery, the estate welcomes visitors to its tasting cellar in Rully. There, you can explore a complete range of white and red wines expressing the diversity of the Côte Chalonnaise terroirs, in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.

Among the wines to discover:

  • Clos de Vésignot Red – A deep, structured Pinot Noir.
  • La Gaudine White – A fresh and balanced Chardonnay.
  • Rully Blanc Les Gaudoirs – A classic wine with silky texture and mineral finish.
  • Bourgogne Aligoté – Crisp, refreshing, and full of charm.
  • Rully Blanc Maizières – Elegant and subtly aromatic.
  • Bouzeron Les Corcelles – A fine expression of the Aligoté Doré grape.
  • Brange Red and Les Saint Jacques Red – Bright, fruit-forward cuvées with impressive length.

Between Tradition and Modernity

Domaine de L’Ecette produces up to 130,000 bottles per year, all from its own vineyards. This independence ensures stylistic consistency and uncompromising quality with every vintage.

The estate’s philosophy is built on deep respect for the terroir, precise winemaking, and a desire to pass down a living winegrowing heritage rooted in authentic Burgundy.

A Rich and Welcoming Environment

The surrounding region offers a true setting of beauty: the medieval Château de Rully overlooking the vineyards, the Grottes d’Agneux caves, or the Voie Bleue cycling route connecting Luxembourg to Lyon. Not to mention the delights of Burgundian gastronomy, best enjoyed in nearby Chagny, Chalon-sur-Saône, or Beaune.
