The adventure began in 1891, when Basile Vigroux planted the first vines. Since then, five generations have followed one another, driven by the same passion. From a handful of hectares at the outset, the vineyard has gradually grown to nearly 80 hectares today, thanks to the work of Firmin, Jean, René, Michel, Jean-Marie, Roger…
Today, Romain Vigroux, alongside Caroline, carries on this family history with fresh energy, without ever breaking the link between heritage and innovation. Here, wine remains a matter of transmission, but also of daring.
A vineyard rooted in the Thau lagoon
The vines of Domaine d'Hondrat stretch across the villages of Villeveyrac and Mèze, in the heart of the Thau lagoon. The clay-limestone and gravelly soils, part classified as AOP Languedoc, give the wines a frank identity, marked by minerality and freshness.
The emblematic Languedoc grapes sit alongside more unusual varieties, allowing the estate to offer a broad, readable and coherent range, designed for a new generation of wine lovers, in AOP Languedoc as well as IGP Pays d'Oc.
