Domaine d'Hondrat: A Legacy of Passion and Innovation in Languedoc Roussillon

Located in the heart of Bassin de Thau in Languedoc Roussillon, Domaine d’Hondrat’s history dates back to 1891, when Basile Vigroux, the great-great-grandfather of the current estate owner Romain Vigroux, embarked on a family adventure in viticulture. Five generations of winemakers have since followed, each contributing to the development and richness of the vineyard. From Firmin to Jean, René, Michel, Jean-Marie, and Roger, the estate has grown from 4 to 80 hectares.

Throughout this history, the family’s passion for viticulture has been passed down from father to son, evolving with the times to offer high-quality wines that cater to a new generation of wine enthusiasts.

A Few Words About the Vineyard

The vineyard is primarily planted on clay-limestone and gravel soils, with part of it classified under the AOP Coteaux du Languedoc (Protected Geographical Indication). For over 120 years, Domaine d'Hondrat has been distinguished by its innovative approach to vine management, continually striving for technical excellence. Yet, the estate never loses sight of the essential values of tradition, passion, and high standards that define its wines.
