A family history rooted in Rochecorbon. Since 1921, Domaine Bourillon Dorléans has perpetuated the art of wine on the hillsides of Rochecorbon, in the heart of the Vouvray appellation. Founded by Gaston Dorléans, the estate has never left the family’s hands. Today, Frédéric and his son Benjamin embody the third and fourth generation of winemakers, carrying forward a savoir-faire passed down with passion.

Their goal: to preserve the authenticity of the terroirs while infusing a touch of creativity and modernity into each cuvée.

The terroir: clay-limestone and silica, the cradle of Chenin Blanc

The 26-hectare vineyard flourishes on clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soils, among the most renowned in Vouvray. Here, Chenin Blanc – also called Pineau de la Loire – reveals its full complexity. The wines deliver subtle aromas of apple, pear, and honey, supported by fine acidity and remarkable length on the palate.

A unique troglodytic cellar

The estate houses a spectacular troglodytic cellar, carved into the rock, where the cuvées rest in ideal conditions. This unusual visit offers a plunge into the estate’s history, a discovery of its winemaking methods, and a tasting of the diversity of its Vouvray wines: taut and elegant dry wines, balanced demi-secs, refined sweet wines, and festive sparklings.

An emblematic figure, Frédéric Bourillon left his mark on the estate by daring innovation: artistic labels, collaborations with sculptors, original sensory experiences such as the scented label. His son Benjamin continues this creative legacy, while initiating with his brother new cuvées from parcel selections. Together, they are shaping the future of the domaine while respecting its heritage.

Sustainable and reasoned viticulture

For more than 25 years, Domaine Bourillon Dorléans has practiced reasoned viticulture. Treatments are reduced to the bare minimum and carried out with BioControl-certified products. Natural soil management, shredding vine shoots into fertilizer, and biodiversity preservation are part of this sustainable approach.

During harvest, the most prestigious parcels are picked by hand, sometimes in several passes, to select grapes at perfect ripeness. Winemaking blends modernity and tradition: temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, Burgundy barrels for high-end cuvées, indigenous yeasts, and limited use of sulfites.
