The colour is a brilliant pale golden yellow. On the nose, spicy, saffron and vanilla aromas mingle with notes of white and yellow fruit, sometimes with hints of Tonka bean or truffle. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied, with a surprising freshness and a round, lively finish.
This wine goes well with fleshier fish and shellfish such as lobster and scallops, as well as white meats (poultry, pork) or creamy sauces with a hint of acidity. Also ideal on a cheese platter.
Ideal recipe: Roast poulard with lemongrass jus. Tatin of artichokes and andouillettes with Vouvray.
