Château Montana
A 60-hectare family estate in the Aspres, south of Perpignan, in Côtes du Roussillon. HVE-certified and in organic conversion, by the Jonquères d'Oriola family.
A historic estate in the heart of the Pyrénées-Orientales. Founded at the end of the 19th century, Château Montana is set on the foothills of the Pic du Canigou, between sea and mountain, in the Aspres terroir south of Perpignan.
Jean Jonquères d'Oriola, from a family of farmers present in the region for more than five centuries, carries on the family passion for the vine and wine. The estate covers 60 hectares of vineyard, offering ideal conditions for growing local and international grapes.

Terroir and grapes
The clay-limestone soil of the Aspres gives the grapes finesse and power. The estate grows a fine diversity of grapes:
Traditional grapes: Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Muscat.
Complementary varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan and Cinsault.
This diversity makes it possible to create red, white and rosé wines with a rich and balanced aromatic profile.
Sustainable viticulture and organic conversion
Committed to a viticulture respectful of the environment, Château Montana is certified High Environmental Value and applies traditional methods such as mechanical working of the soil.
Since the summer of 2023, the estate has been in conversion to organic farming, ensuring low yields that favour quality and biodiversity. The 2023 vintage will be officially certified organic.
Winemaking and ageing
The wines are entirely made, aged and bottled at the estate. The cellar is equipped with temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and a barrel room for precise ageing. Each cuvée reflects the Aspres terroir and the family know-how, from dry wine to natural sweet wines.

Jean Jonquères d'Oriola and his family put their passion at the service of wine for generations. Château Montana combines tradition and modernity, offering visitors a unique experience through visits, tastings and events. The property also offers gîtes and a reception room for any type of private or professional event.
