Champagne Palmer & Co, an exceptional house of the Montagne de Reims since 1947
Champagne Palmer & Co
A Champagne house founded in 1947 on the Montagne de Reims by seven winegrowers. 415 hectares on four terroirs, more than 200 ha of Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Solera method, chalk cellars, mission-driven company (ISO 14001, HVE, VDC).
There are Champagne houses one recognises at the first glass. Champagne Palmer & Co is one of them: a fineness of bubble, a rare aromatic complexity, and behind each cuvee, the tenacious vision of seven winegrowers who wanted, from 1947, to prove that together one goes further, and higher. Over 415 hectares of vines between the Montagne de Reims, the Côte des Bar, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte de Sézanne, the house composes blends of remarkable precision. More than 75 years after its founding, it has established itself as a Champagne reference, renowned for the finesse, elegance and complexity of its cuvees.
A great house born of the vision of seven winegrowers
The history of Champagne Palmer & Co begins in 1947, when seven winegrowers of the Montagne de Reims decided to unite their terroirs and their know-how to create a house able to rival the greatest signatures of Champagne. Their ambition was clear: to craft exceptional champagnes revealing the richness of the Champagne terroirs and the precision of the art of blending. More than 75 years later, the house has established itself as a reference of the Champagne vineyard, without ever losing sight of the essential: the terroir, the winegrower, the glass.
A 415-hectare vineyard on the great terroirs of Champagne
The vineyard extends over more than 415 hectares, more than 200 of them classified Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. The Montagne de Reims, the historic cradle of the estate, for its great Pinot Noir; the Côte des Bar, for the power of the southern Pinot Noir; the Vallée de la Marne, for the roundness and fruit of the Meunier; the Côte de Sézanne, for the freshness and elegance of the Chardonnay. The cellar master Xavier Berdin composes complex, perfectly balanced blends there.

Reserve wines, Solera method and chalk cellars
The Palmer & Co signature rests on the balance between the three varieties, but it is in the mastery of time that one of the great strengths of the house lies. Some reserve wines are kept for more than ten years and enrich each blend in depth and complexity. For the Rosé Solera, Blanc de Noirs and Amazone cuvees, the house uses the Solera method, an evolving blending system inspired by the great wines of Jerez, with three distinct soleras (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and red wine). The champagnes age long on lees in cellars dug 18 metres underground in the chalk: from 3 to 10 years depending on the cuvees.

More than 200 hectares are classified Grands Crus and Premiers Crus.
What is the Solera method used by Palmer & Co?
The Solera method is an evolving blending system inspired by the great wines of Jerez. At Palmer & Co, three distinct soleras are maintained (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and red wine for the rosé), allowing champagnes of exceptional complexity and depth. The Rosé Solera, Blanc de Noirs and Amazone cuvees are its finest expressions.
How long do the Palmer & Co champagnes age?
The Palmer & Co champagnes age on lees in chalk cellars dug 18 metres underground. Minimum 3 years for non-vintage cuvees, 6 to 8 years for vintages, and up to 10 years for large formats. This prolonged ageing develops fineness of bubble, tertiary aromas and a creamy texture.
Is Champagne Palmer & Co committed to the environment?
Yes, concretely: Palmer & Co is a mission-driven company, certified ISO 14001 and recognised for CSR. More than 80% of its vineyard is certified HVE (High Environmental Value), VDC (Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne) or farmed organically. A commitment written into the statutes of the house.
Which cuvee is ideal to discover Palmer & Co?
La Réserve is the ideal entry point: the signature cuvee, it reveals aromas of citrus, pear, apricot and hazelnut, with a fine liveliness and great elegance. To go further, the Blanc de Blancs or the Rosé Solera offer two more precise expressions of the house style.
Which grape varieties for the Palmer & Co Champagnes?
The three Champagne varieties: Chardonnay for freshness and minerality, Pinot Noir for structure and power, Meunier for roundness and fruity expression. It is the balance between these varieties, from four terroirs, that signs the Palmer & Co style.
What is the Amazone cuvee of Palmer & Co?
Amazone is one of the house's prestige cuvees, made with the Solera method. It represents the most complex and accomplished expression of the Palmer & Co style, combining exceptional aromatic depth and a creamy texture from long ageing on lees in the chalk cellars.
What is the difference between a vintage and non-vintage champagne at Palmer & Co?
The non-vintage champagnes, like La Réserve, blend wines from several years to guarantee the consistency of the style, with a minimum of 3 years on lees. The vintages express a precise harvest, aged 6 to 8 years. Large formats can reach up to 10 years of maturation.
