Vincent, from a long line of winemakers, crafts his wines in the Rully appellation, nestled in a small wine village at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise vineyard in Burgundy. Officially joining the Domaine de l’Ecette in 1997 to work alongside his father, Jean Daux, who founded the estate in 1989, Vincent now manages 15 hectares of vineyards with the help of two full-time employees.

We’ve been able to grow by acquiring new vineyard parcels and expanding our bottled wine sales,

What does the estate's range of wines include?

Notable recognition and diverse offerings

Our range includes Rully Blancs, Rully Reds, Bouzeron, Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Rouge, and Crémant de Bourgogne,

says Vincent. The white wines feature a blend of chardonnay, the hallmark grape of Burgundy, and aligoté.

Aligoté, long associated with Kir, is regaining its prestige. I started producing Bourgogne Aligoté in 2009. Initially met with skepticism, our customers were soon won over, and we’ve been out of stock since 2010.

Vincent's commitment to quality is evident, as the Rully Blanc cuvée "Les Gaudoirs 2014" was recently featured in the 2017 Guide Hachette des Vins.

The red wines are noted for their freshness and smoothness, reminiscent of Burgundy’s fine pinot noirs. The winemaking and aging techniques result in wines with a rich mouthfeel and silky tannins.

What are the plans for the years ahead?

Expanding the winery and vinification facilities

Since 2008, Vincent has employed large oak casks for certain cuvées.

These large wooden barrels, equivalent to several smaller barrels, help preserve freshness and fruitiness with a subtle oaky character,

explains the winemaker. The year 2017 marks the beginning of significant expansion work, as Vincent plans to increase production and storage capacity. This major project hints at the introduction of new cuvées in the near future.
