Portraits of winemakers
Domaine Brau: modernity and ecology
The vines of Domaine Brau thrive in the Languedoc region of Occitanie. The estate has a deep-rooted respect for the environment. Indeed, the vines have always been cultivated using sustainable agriculture, and the estate was one of the first to receive organic certification as early as 1989, the year the label was created!
What philosophy guides the estate's approach to the land?
An environmentally respectful estate
Domaine Brau is committed to producing fresh and easy-to-drink wines while cultivating the land in a manner that respects the soil, people, and traditional skills.
Who are the vintners behind Domaine Brau?
Passionate and ambitious young vintners
Fabien and Guillaume, the current owners of Domaine Brau, have always been passionate about wine. With a great-grandfather who produced calvados, a grandfather who was a vintner, and parents who were restaurateurs, wine has always been a part of their culture. For them, wine is synonymous with conviviality and is a foundational element of their identity.
They took over Domaine Brau in 2020 with the aim of further developing it. Ambitious, they have initiated a major restructuring of the estate and plan to plant several more hectares of vines to expand the vineyard in the coming years. Creative, the vintners are constantly innovating and enjoy collaborating with other winemaking friends and even local breweries.
Their desire to always improve drives them to work tirelessly to master their vines and offer their clients organic, affordable, and authentic wines.
What style of wine does Domaine Brau produce?
Modern and bold wines
Domaine Brau aims to create modern wines to accompany all your moments of conviviality. "Freshness" and "fruit" are the guiding principles of the estate. To achieve this, the vintners have reduced oak influence and malolactic fermentation to preserve the freshness of their wines. Fabien and Guillaume offer us soft cuvées, close to the fruit, with authentic flavors, such as their Sauvignon Blanc, which is intense in exotic fruit aromas yet remains fresh. The estate also produces micro-cuvées like the Méditation cuvée, a blend of Syrah and Fer Servadou, a rare southwestern grape, robust and finely oaked. An original wine that deserves to be tasted!
Domaine Brau aims to provide consumers with affordable and easy-to-drink organic wines. Wines to enjoy with friends, for all moments of sharing! The cuvées come from various appellations: AOC Cabardès, IGP Pays d’Oc, and Vin de France (for the most original cuvées). Fabien and Guillaume also enjoy offering single-varietal cuvées with distinct identities and bold flavors. Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Fer Servadou, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay are among the varietals you can (re)discover thanks to Domaine Brau.
