In the south of France, the very sunny vineyard of Languedoc-Roussillon extends over more than 240,000 hectares from Nîmes to Leucate (Aude), making it one of the largest vineyards in the world. It includes the AOC Rivesaltes.

The appellation area of this AOC extends over the territory of the commune of Rivesaltes and its surroundings on some 5,200 hectares of soils with variable composition (clay, pebbles, granite, silt and schist). Grenache vines (white, gray and black), Maccabeu, Muscat à petits grains and Muscat d'Alexandrie, subject to the Mediterranean climate of this geographical area, are planted in this appellation and produce white and red wines with very good aging potential (30 years and beyond). White wines, fresh in their youth, express a great aromatic complexity (candied fruits, honey, apricot, hazelnut, toast, walnuts, etc.). Reds are aromatic (prune, spices, tobacco, roasting, etc.) and have marked tannins that blend with time.
