In the northwest of France, the Loire vineyard extends from the Massif Central to Nantes over some 70,000 hectares of vines. It is known for the Chinon, Bourgueil and Pouilly-Fumé appellations among others. The Jasnières AOC is also found there.

The appellation area of this AOC extends over the territory of 3 communes of the Loire Valley (Ruillé, Loire and Lhomme) over some 65 hectares of soils mainly composed of flint. Chenin vines, subject to the temperate climate and oceanic influences of this geographical area, are planted in this appellation and produce dry white wines with good aging potential (between 5 and 10 years, and more for certain vintages). These wines are fresh, delicate, mineral and round in the mouth expressing a bouquet of white flowers (acacia, hawthorn) and fruits (citrus, apricot).
