AOC Côtes du Roussillon Villages Lesquerde
In the south of France, the very sunny vineyard of Languedoc-Roussillon extends over more than 240,000 hectares from Nîmes to Leucate (Aude), making it one of the largest vineyards in the world. It includes the AOC Côtes du Roussillon Villages Lesquerde.
The appellation area of this AOC extends over the territory of the communes of Caramany, Lansac and Rasiguères on some 58 hectares of mainly granitic soils. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan vines are planted in this appellation at an altitude of around 300 meters and produce red wines. These wines are known for being distinguished and mineral with spicy notes.
