As its name suggests, this vineyard is located in south-western France, between the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, and covers 11 départements (Aveyron, Dordogne, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Landes). The AOC Côtes du Marmandais extends over 27 communes in the Lot-et-Garonne department, covering some 1,320 hectares of soil composed mainly of limestone, clay, marl, sand and gravel. Cabernet-franc, Cabernet-sauvignon, Gamay, Muscadelle, Sauvignon and Semillon vines, among others, are planted in this appellation, which is subject to the oceanic climate and Mediterranean influences of this geographical zone, and produce white, rosé and semi-aged (5-10 years) red wines. While the latter are tannic and round on the palate, the whites and rosés are both fresh and fruity.
