Vignobles Vellas: Innovation in Service of the Languedoc Terroir

A Family Story — Four Generations of Passion. Vignobles Vellas embodies the spirit of Languedoc in all its richness. For four generations, this family of winemakers based between Pic Saint-Loup and the Mediterranean has carried on a winemaking tradition rooted in respect for nature and artisanal expertise. The Mas du Pont Estate in Teyran and Le Crès, near Montpellier, is the beating heart of this adventure. Here, vineyards, gastronomy, and Camargue traditions unite in a single destination featuring a wine cellar, gourmet restaurant, bull ranch, equestrian center, and event venue. Under the leadership of Nicolas Vellas, the original 13-hectare vineyard has grown into 350 hectares spread across 14 estates and 8 emblematic southern French terroirs.

A Signature: Innovation & Creativity

Wines for Today and Tomorrow The Vellas signature is built on one principle: crafting sincere, expressive, and modern wines that move and connect people. It all begins in the vineyard — with a constant quest for healthy, perfectly ripe grapes. The result: – Deep, concentrated reds rich in fruit and aromatic intensity. – Elegant, bright rosés and whites that express varietal purity. Each cuvée strikes the perfect balance between creativity, precision, and emotion — shaped by the hands of a passionate artisan. Vignobles Vellas produces exceptional wines that embody their terroir — lively, gourmet, and full of energy. “Our wines are creations of today, designed for tomorrow, made for those who share our values of passion and boldness.”

A Sustainable and Responsible Agricultural Approach

Respect for the Earth as a Philosophy The Vellas family has always maintained a deep connection with nature. More than a vineyard, this is a living ecosystem where vines, olive trees, cereals, bulls, and Camargue horses coexist. Across more than 1,000 hectares of farmland, every activity follows a sustainable, environmentally conscious approach. Today, over 300 hectares of vines are cultivated organically — a tangible commitment to cleaner, more virtuous viticulture. This respect-driven philosophy guides every stage — from soil cultivation to winemaking — in pursuit of balance, quality, and authenticity.

Exceptional Terroirs: From Languedoc to the Rhône Valley

Vignobles Vellas extends across multiple terroirs with unique geological and climatic identities: Pays d’Oc IGP – Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert – Grés de Montpellier – Saint-Drézéry – Pic Saint-Loup – Faugères – Saint-Chinian Berlou – Terrasses du Larzac – Muscat de Lunel – Costières-de-Nîmes – Côtes-du-Rhône – Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Each plot expresses its character through distinctive cuvées — true reflections of southern French terroirs and the skill of their winemakers.

Signature Wines: Boldness Meets Taste

Innovation lies at the heart of Vignobles Vellas. Every wine tells a story, with a creative, unconventional twist. Among the iconic cuvées: – Jeu de Bulles – a refined and modern sparkling rosé. – Cuvée d’Exception Carmin – deep, elegant, and intense red. – Naturellement Pur – an orange wine “for the curious.” – GranMarone – a tribute to Italy and the appassimento style. – Punish Me or Howl with the Wolves – bold wines with strong identity. Each creation reflects a desire to push boundaries and reinvent the wine experience.

Mas du Pont: A Place of Life, Culture, and Sharing

Mas du Pont is more than a vineyard — it’s a complete wine tourism destination. Visitors can enjoy tastings, fine dining, live shows, and traditional Camargue events. It’s a vibrant place where wine becomes an art of living and innovation meets conviviality.
