Terre des 2 Sources: An Exceptional Wine Estate in the Heart of the Cévennes
A Protected Vineyard at the Crossroads of Terroirs. Just 45 minutes from Montpellier, Terre des 2 Sources thrives across 40 hectares of unspoiled nature, nestled between the Massif du Bois de Monnier and the foothills of the Cévennes. Its unique location, at the northern edge of the Terrasses du Larzac appellation, offers a rich diversity of clay-limestone soils, slopes, and exposures—ideal for crafting elegant, balanced, and sustainable wines.
A Human Story of Tradition and Renewal
Founded on the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa, the estate was taken over in 1963 by the Damais family. In 2017, a new chapter began with Hélène Taillefer and a New Zealand winemaking couple, Kirsten and Glen Creasy. Together, they gave birth to Terre des 2 Sources, a symbol of the successful fusion between historical expertise and New World inspiration.
A Viticulture That Respects Nature
Guided by a reasoned agroecological approach, the estate protects the biodiversity of the garrigue and preserves natural balance. Regular observation, minimal intervention, living soils, and strict limitations on chemical inputs—everything is done to grow healthy, expressive grapes. The goal? To produce authentic wines that are true expressions of the Cévennes terroir.
A Terroir of Exceptional Richness
Thanks to its varied soils (gravel, gravette, clay-limestone) and a Mediterranean climate moderated by altitude, each plot reveals its own unique character. The estate produces wines under several designations:
- AOP Terrasses du Larzac
- AOP Languedoc
- IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert
- IGP Pays d’Hérault
