La Vigneraie: Rouge Métisse, an organic Bordeaux inspired by sharing and emotion

La Vigneraie - Rouge Métisse

An organic and biodynamic estate of the Haut Entre-Deux-Mers, in Sainte-Gemme (Gironde), imagined by Sophie Charbonnier, originally from Réunion. Its emblematic cuvee Rouge Métisse, a 100% organic Merlot, is a bridge between cultures and emotions. Cuvees Soleil d'Été and Soleil d'Hiver, in AOC Bordeaux.

At the heart of the Haut Entre-Deux-Mers, in Sainte-Gemme, La Vigneraie embodies a modern, committed and deeply human vision of Bordeaux wine. Behind this project lies a story of life and convictions. Sophie Charbonnier, originally from the island of Réunion, chose to put down roots in the Gironde with her husband to give birth to a vineyard faithful to her values: respect for nature, quality demand and the pleasure of sharing.

A vineyard chosen with care, conducted in organic farming

Each parcel of La Vigneraie was selected with precision, taking into account the soil, the exposure and the natural balance of the terroir. The vines are grown in strict respect of the principles of organic farming, with constant attention to the ripeness of the grapes. The harvests are carried out at the right moment, when the fruit has reached its full potential. This rigour makes it possible to craft fine, harmonious and sincere wines, in collaboration with the Vignerons Réunis de Monségur, a partner recognised for its savoir-faire and demand.

Rouge Métisse, a wine that tells a story

At the heart of the La Vigneraie world is Rouge Métisse, an emblematic cuvee imagined by Sophie as a bridge between cultures, terroirs and emotions. For those who, even far from their island, keep a deep connection with their roots, she wanted to create a wine that tells a story. Made from 100% Merlot, Rouge Métisse stands out for its intense purple-red robe, delicate aromas of vanilla and a round, soft and balanced palate.

Frequently asked questions about Rouge Métisse

How do organic farming and the choice of Merlot influence the roundness, balance and pairing with spicy cuisines in Bordeaux wines?

Organic farming preserves the life of the soil and the natural ripeness of the grape, giving purer, more digestible wines faithful to the fruit. Merlot, the king grape of the Bordeaux right bank, brings roundness, softness and suppleness: little astringency, an ample, fruity palate. At La Vigneraie, this 100% organic Merlot (like Rouge Métisse) develops an intense purple robe, aromas of vanilla and a balanced palate, which pairs particularly well with spicy dishes and fusion cuisines: the roundness of the wine envelops the chilli and the spices without fading, for a warm, harmonious pairing.
