Domaine Rémi Pouizin : Living, sincere wines deeply rooted in the Rhône Valley

In the heart of the Drôme provençale, around the village of Visan, Domaine Rémi Pouizin cultivates far more than vines: it cultivates a patient relationship with the living world. Across some twenty hectares farmed organically, each plot is considered a complete ecosystem—observed, respected and gently guided.

Here, wine is never a demonstration of force. It is a faithful translation of place, vintage and human choices. This philosophy runs through all the estate’s cuvées, from Canopée to Grains Sauvages, from the Libre range to the easy-drinking Amour de Fruit wines.

Organic viticulture guided by observation

For Rémi Pouizin, managing a vineyard begins with observing before acting. Soil, vine, climate and their interactions set the pace.

The vines are grassed, nourished with living composts, and worked using gentle, targeted interventions. Treatments are limited to what is strictly necessary, hedges are preserved, and biodiversity is actively encouraged.

This approach is clearly expressed in cuvées such as Native Rouge and Native Blanc, AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Visan wines that precisely reflect the natural balance of the soils and the freshness of the terroir.

A family story rooted in the land

Vineyards have been part of Rémi Pouizin’s life since childhood. Harvest memories, shared meals and conversations between the rows shaped a lasting passion.

Since 1995, he has patiently built a human-scale estate, without haste, guided by a constant requirement: remain faithful to the place.

Today, the adventure continues as a family. This spirit of transmission is felt in sincere, accessible cuvées such as Amour de Fruit Rouge, Amour de Fruit Blanc, Amour de Fruit Rosé and Amour de Fruit Viognier—wines made for immediate pleasure without ever denying the estate’s identity.

A mosaic of Rhône Valley terroirs

The estate’s plots spread across a wide range of soils: sands, marls, gravels and red clays. This diversity allows Rhône grape varieties to express themselves naturally, without overripeness or artifice.

Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault give rise to characterful cuvées such as Grains Sauvages, while white varieties—Clairette, Roussanne, Marsanne and Chardonnay—find their voice in Libre Marsanne, Libre Chardonnay and Native Blanc.

Each cuvée claims its origin and personality, with no desire for standardization.

In the cellar: guiding, not correcting

The cellar work extends the vineyard philosophy. Fermentations start naturally, extractions are gentle, and aging is adapted to each vintage.

No fixed recipes, no unnecessary additions. Just respect for the grapes and for time.

This mindset is fully expressed in the Libre range, with Libre Grenache and Libre Syrah—wines free in expression, precise and straightforward, allowing the grape variety and the year to speak.

Organic wines true to their origin

All wines from the estate are organically certified and vinified without artifice. Balance, freshness and clarity of fruit are always the priority.

From structured cuvées like Canopée to the generous wines of the Amour de Fruit range, each bottle tells a different facet of the estate.

Consistency in practices, deep knowledge of each plot and a refusal to compromise explain the coherence across all the ranges.

The Drôme provençale as a guiding thread

Around Visan, the vines benefit from generous light, the breath of the mistral wind, and a living environment of hedges, lavender fields and flowering embankments.

The soil is worked as a living organism: light ploughing, cover crops, herbal infusions and constant observation of natural cycles.

This attention to the soil feeds the depth and energy found in the estate’s emblematic cuvées, vintage after vintage.

A philosophy built over time

For more than thirty years, Rémi Pouizin has refined a committed yet never dogmatic vision of wine. Together with Géraldine, he built an organic estate from the very beginning, faithful to a clear line: produce sincere, rooted and living wines.

From the Native AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages Visan wines to the free-spirited Libre cuvées, and through the generous Amour de Fruit range, wine becomes a link between the land, those who work it and those who enjoy it.
