In the heart of the Drome provencale, around the village of Visan, Domaine Remi Pouizin cultivates far more than vines: it cultivates a patient relationship with the living. Over about twenty hectares farmed organically, each plot is thought of as an ecosystem in its own right, observed, respected and supported. Here, wine is never a demonstration: it is a faithful translation of the place, the vintage and human choices. A philosophy found throughout the cuvees, from Canopee to Grains Sauvages, from the Libre cuvees to the Amour de Fruit wines for pleasure.
An organic viticulture guided by observation
For Remi Pouizin, running a vineyard begins with looking before acting. The soil, the plant, the climate and their interactions set the pace. The vines are grassed over, fed by living composts, worked with gentle, targeted interventions. Treatments are kept to the essential, hedges preserved and biodiversity encouraged. A mosaic of terroirs in the Rhône Valley
The estate's plots stretch across varied soils: sand, marl, gravel and red clay. This diversity lets the Rhone grapes express themselves naturally, without over-ripeness or artifice. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault give rise to cuvees of character such as Grains Sauvages, while the whites - Clairette, Roussanne, Marsanne or Chardonnay - find their expression in Libre Marsanne, Libre Chardonnay or Native Blanc. In the cellar, the approach continues the work of the vine: fermentations start naturally, extractions are measured and ageing adapted to each vintage. No recipe, no superfluous addition, just respect for the grape and for time - an approach found fully in the Libre range, with Libre Grenache and Libre Syrah.
