Platz François & Fils: Commitment to Biodiversity and Ecological Farming in Alsace

Platz François & Fils operates in the charming Alsace village of Bergheim, surrounded by historic ramparts. The vineyard boasts two Grand Cru sites, including the renowned Altenberg de Bergheim, known for allowing the blending of grape varieties. Vincent and Jean-Luc took over from their father François and have steadily enhanced the quality of their wines.

"Since 1993, we’ve stopped using fertilizers in our vineyards and do not chaptalize our wines (no added sugar). We also refrain from using herbicides, and all our harvests, including picking and sorting, are done by hand. Additionally, our estate is certified organic (AB) and monitored by Ecocert."
