Pépin: Natural Wine as a Living Heritage and Collective Commitment

Pépin is not just a brand — it’s a movement, a manifesto for a free, artisanal, and profoundly human wine. Heir to a millennia-old tradition, natural wine has always been the fruit of passionate winemakers who respect the land and all living things. Before the industrial era, wine was pure, balanced, and rooted in both daily life and agricultural landscapes. Pépin reconnects with this original spirit: grapes grown in living soils, hand harvesting, natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and above all, absolute honesty in every bottle.

The Art of Making Natural Wine Accessible

At Pépin, authenticity doesn’t mean elitism. Natural wine can be good, beautiful, and affordable all at once. Each cuvée is born from collaboration between winemakers and artists who share the same philosophy. The bottle design is by Michel Tolmer, a key figure in the natural wine scene, while the wines themselves evolve freely, shaped by the harvest and the rhythm of nature. Flavors may change, but the essence remains — pleasure, freedom, and sharing.

A Commitment to the Earth and Future Generations

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.”
At Pépin, this quote from Saint-Exupéry is more than words — it’s a compass. The project aims to democratize good wine while ensuring that small organic producers can make a fair living. No chemical weedkillers, no fungicides, no synthetic fertilizers — only healthy vines and living soils. The goal? To bring back the colors, scents, insects, and birdsongs of our terroirs.

Natural Winemaking — Without Artifice or Masks

The secret of Pépin lies in its network of committed winemakers. All practice certified organic farming, free from pesticides and chemical inputs. Grapes are hand-harvested, then vinified without filtration or additives. No industrial yeasts, no added sulfur during fermentation — the wine makes itself, guided by patience and skill.

Each Pépin wine is alive — sometimes lightly sparkling upon opening, always vibrant. Like a piece of music played differently each time, it keeps its soul but reinvents itself with every vintage. Pépin doesn’t seek to reproduce the same thing, but to celebrate the diversity of life.

Sincere, Vibrant, and Uncompromising Wines

Pépin wines never cheat. They move, breathe, and evolve. A red that’s juicy and light; a white that’s crisp and saline; a rosé that’s fresh and thirst-quenching; an orange wine with beautiful bitters; a pét-nat full of energy — each cuvée tells a story, an emotion. Some special editions are even born from exclusive collaborations between Pépin winemakers and leading figures in the natural wine world.

A Joyful Human Adventure

Behind Pépin are six passionate founders: Pierre and Jean (Domaine Achillée, Alsace), Xavier and Pierre (oenology consultants), and Arnaud and Raphaël (project coordinators). Around them is a constellation of partner winemakers who share the same ideal — a wine that’s free, alive, and celebratory. Ultimately, Pépin is about the art of celebrating life itself, glass in hand, among friends, in a world we hope to make more beautiful and true.
