Le Moulin de la Roque: An Exceptional Terroir Between Sea and Hills
A Vineyard Bathed in Mediterranean Sunlight.Nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the Provençal hills, Le Moulin de la Roque spans over 300 hectares. Its unique terroir, combined with an ideal microclimate, nurtures Mourvèdre – the emblematic grape variety of Bandol. Our parcels benefit from the prestigious AOC Bandol, Côtes de Provence, and IGP Méditerranée appellations, producing wines with exceptional aromatic richness.
Authentic Wines, True Reflections of the Terroir
Since 1950, our cellar has blended tradition and innovation to craft outstanding red, rosé, and white wines. Each cuvée is the result of meticulous parcel selection and careful vinification, offering a range that suits both convivial moments and refined gastronomy. A commitment to sustainability guides every step of our winemaking practices.
The Tarente Gecko: A Symbol of Our Ecological Commitment
Featured on our logo and labels, the Tarente – a gecko native to Provence – symbolizes our dedication to biodiversity. This natural ally regulates insect populations, perfectly illustrating our respect for the surrounding environment.
Excellence and Quality: A Preserved Heritage
Since the official recognition of the AOC Bandol in 1941, we have continuously raised our standards to guarantee exceptional wines. Our winemakers follow a strict charter: hand-harvesting, parcel-by-parcel vinification, and at least 18 months of aging in large oak casks for our reds. This expertise results in wines with strong identity markers and consistent quality.
A Transition Toward Sustainable Viticulture
Since 2007, we have been committed to eco-responsible practices, aiming for HVE Level 3 certification across our entire production while steadily increasing the share of organically farmed vineyards. Several of our partner estates, such as Domaine de Nartette, are already certified organic, with others currently in conversion.
Bandol: A Unique Natural Setting
The Bandol appellation thrives in an exceptional amphitheater-like landscape, sun-drenched and protected by the Sainte-Baume massif. Its diverse soils – red sands, black marl, limestone with rudists, Triassic pebbles, and sandy marl – bring unmatched complexity to the wines. The traditional dry-stone terraces (“restanques”) regulate erosion and water resources, while the sea’s proximity tempers the climate, ensuring optimal ripening of Mourvèdre.
Mourvèdre: The King Grape of Bandol
Originally from Spain, Mourvèdre fully reveals its potential on our lands, delivering powerful tannic structure and outstanding aging potential. Blended with Cinsault, Carignan, Syrah, and Grenache, it creates wines of remarkable intensity and elegance.
Four Iconic Bandol Estates
Le Moulin de la Roque vinifies, ages, and exclusively markets the wines of four iconic Bandol estates, each expressing its unique terroir and the expertise of passionate winemakers. Recognized in prestigious international competitions and praised by specialized wine guides, they embody our excellence:

- Domaine du Rousset: Between hills and sea, its cuvées combine freshness with elegance.
- Domaine de la Roque: Steeped in tradition, it perpetuates an exceptional winemaking heritage.
