Domaine J. de Villebois: a new breath for Loire Sauvignon Blanc
Along the Loire, where the morning mist slowly lifts at daybreak, a very special estate was born. In the mid-2000s, Joost and Miguela de Willebois decided to devote their lives to a single grape variety: Sauvignon Blanc. Their ambition was both simple and bold: explore the Loire terroirs to reveal all their nuances, from the most crystalline to the deepest.
A modern vision for a timeless grape variety
At Domaine J. de Villebois, Loire tradition never clashes with innovation. Modern winemaking techniques are combined with respect for the terroir in order to preserve fruit purity, aromatic freshness and precise textures.
Each wine is conceived as a dialogue between the soil and the savoir-faire: purity of aromas, balance in structure, and the full intensity of Sauvignon Blanc in all its expressions.
An estate driven by people
If Villebois wines are so captivating, it is also thanks to the people behind them.
- Joost and Miguela, passionate founders, bring their visionary energy.
- Patrice Merceron, technical director, offers a precise understanding of soils and vintages.
- Alberto Tonetto, oenologist, shapes the cuvées with a finesse inspired by his international background.
This synergy gives birth to vibrant, precise and truly lively wines.
A certified, sustainable approach: “Vignerons Engagés”
The estate embraces a long-term philosophy: preserving landscapes, protecting biodiversity, managing resources responsibly, and maintaining a strong social commitment. Every decision aims to safeguard the natural heritage of the Loire.
A vineyard like a journey along the Loire
From the lands of the Cher to the slopes of Sancerre, from the Centre-Loire to the vineyards of Sologne, the estate selects its parcels like chapters in a great work.
Everywhere, one single guiding thread: Sauvignon Blanc. Through it, each terroir offers a different accent, energy and light.
The terroirs: a perfect mosaic to showcase Sauvignon Blanc
Pebbly Bournais soils of Touraine, sparkling flint of Pouilly-Fumé, limestone and marl of the Sancerre hillsides, gravel terraces and sandy soils across Loire appellations… This diversity becomes a full aromatic palette: citrus, white flowers, warm stone, white pepper, crunchy fruit, and saline tension.
