Figuière: a free-spirited and committed family estate facing the Mediterranean
Facing the Îles d’Or, where Provence meets the sea, Figuière has been cultivating a singular vision of wine for nearly forty years. A vision that is organic, demanding and deeply human, far removed from clichés, carried by a family that has always chosen boldness over ease.
Here, terroir is not a backdrop.
It is a driving force.
A family story, a collective energy
In the Combard family, wine is a matter of transmission.
Alain Combard paved the way, convinced very early on that the future of viticulture lay in respect for living ecosystems. Today, Magali, Delphine and François continue this path with the same high standards, but with a gaze firmly turned toward the future.
Each plays their part, each brings their own sensitivity. Together, they have built an independent, creative estate capable of crafting precise wines without ever losing their soul.
A pioneering organic viticulture in Provence
Figuière did not wait for organic farming to become an obvious choice.
As early as 1979, the estate committed to viticulture that respects soils and ecosystems. Today, the vineyards are certified by Ecocert, with meticulous parcel-by-parcel work, gentle interventions and constant attention to biodiversity.
Three terroirs shape the identity of the estate:
La Londe-les-Maures: schist soils, sea spray and natural freshness produce wines that are taut, saline and luminous.
Clos Fanny in Collobrières: altitude, humidity and deep soils give rise to more concentrated, elegant and enveloping cuvées.
Barbeiranne in Pignans: soil diversity and a unique microclimate shape wines that are structured and powerful, yet always balanced.
Each terroir is vinified like a unique musical score.
Artifice-free winemaking in service of taste
In the cellar, François Combard favors precision over demonstration.
Fermentations are carefully managed, inputs kept to a minimum and handling reduced to what is strictly necessary. The goal is never to disguise the wine, but to let the grape speak.
The Figuière style is immediately recognizable: purity, freshness, controlled tension and natural elegance. Clean, readable wines that age gracefully.
Blending, a defining signature of the estate
In Provence, blending is an art.
At Figuière, it is a sensitive science. Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Rolle interact with precision. The estate also explores more resilient grape varieties such as Nero d’Avola and Rousseli, anticipating climatic challenges without sacrificing Provençal identity.
Each cuvée is conceived as a balance, never as a compromise.
Author-driven wines for every moment
Figuière does not produce a single wine, but a palette of emotions:
Première: immediate, vibrant and accessible expressions of terroir.
Confidentielle: high-precision cuvées crafted for gastronomy.
Atmosphère & Méditerranée: pure pleasure, without detours.
Figures & Expérimentales: the estate’s creative playground.
Rosé has built the reputation of the domaine, but whites and reds hold a central place as well, with true ambitions for ageing and food pairing.
A free, independent and deeply human estate
Figuière controls every step, from vine to bottle. This independence allows the estate to innovate, experiment and evolve freely. Around the family, a loyal team shares the same vision: to make wine a bond, a moment of transmission and an act of culture.
At Figuière, wine is never just a product.
It is a story meant to be shared.
How do the maritime and schist-based terroirs of Provence influence the freshness, minerality and overall style of the organic wines from Figuière ?
