A family estate for four generations, Domaine Duval-Voisin is today run by Laurent and Florence Voisin, brother and sister, who succeeded their uncle Jean-Paul Duval, and were joined in 2023 by Bastien, Laurent's son. Set in AOC Bourgueil, on the right bank of the Loire between Tours and Angers, the estate shares its life between two vocations: that of the winemaker, on 14 hectares of Cabernet Franc, and that of the vine nurseryman, with hundreds of thousands of grafted plants each year.
A family story, four generations of winegrowers
The estate's history begins with Albert Duval, who combined market gardening and goat farming. Jean-Paul Duval then expanded the vineyard from 1965 and took up vine grafting in the 1980s. In 2001, the company was founded between Laurent Voisin and his uncle Jean-Paul, joined in 2004 by Florence. Then, in 2023, Bastien, Laurent's son, joined the estate after wine studies and experience on other estates. A continuous transmission, from father to son, in the service of the Bourgueil terroir.
A dual vocation: winemaker and vine nurseryman
The estate is shared between two vocations: that of the winemaker, with 14 hectares of AOC Bourgueil red and rosé, and that of the vine nurseryman, with about 400,000 grafted plants a year (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chenin, Pineau d'Aunis) supplied to the region's winegrowers.

Cabernet Franc, the single grape of the estate's wines
The wines of Domaine Duval-Voisin come from Cabernet Franc alone, the traditional Bourgueil variety. On the gravel and tuffeau terroirs of the right bank of the Loire, it gives fruity, supple reds, from the flagship cuvee Gelée Noire to the estate cuvee, as well as a fresh, gourmet rosé. At the nursery, however, the estate grafts a wider palette of varieties (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Chenin, Pineau d'Aunis) intended for the region's winegrowers.
