Maison Savinaud: Charentes elegance between heritage, terroir and mastery of time
Maison Savinaud
A family house of Corme-Ecluse (Charente-Maritime), Pineau des Charentes, Cognac and cocktails, under oceanic influence. Terroir pineaus aged longer in barrels, from VS to XO: depth, complexity and Charentes elegance, direct from the house.
A family history that spans the generations. At the heart of Charente-Maritime, in Corme-Ecluse, Maison Savinaud perpetuates a know-how born several generations ago. Here, the vine has always been part of life, shaped by the oceanic climate, by the luminous soils of the Charentes and by the daily attention to family tradition. From its beginnings, the Savinaud family has crafted with passion Pineau des Charentes, Cognac, liqueurs and cocktails, in respect of the old gestures.
Pineau des Charentes, a Charentes history
The cultivation of the vine in the region dates back to Roman times. Over the centuries, the Charentes vineyard spread from Saintonge to Angoumois, soon dominated by the town of Cognac, destined to become a major centre of international trade. Pineau des Charentes naturally found its place there: long a family wine, it became a Protected Designation of Origin on 12 October 1945, after decades of structuring and recognition.

A singular terroir between land and ocean
Domaine Savinaud enjoys a privileged location, between maritime mildness and Charentes light. This unique alchemy gives rise to expressive musts, perfectly suited to blending with a young cognac. The house has chosen to showcase terroir pineaus, aged longer in oak barrels than most traditional pineaus: a choice that brings depth, complexity and character, a way to stand out while respecting the Charentes identity.
A heritage handed down, a modern vision assumed
Every page of the Savinaud history is written with the same guiding thread: rigour. The family heritage is a strength, but it is not enough: the house relies on the wisdom of the elders while adopting the modern methods that make it possible to express the best of the Charentes. The approach begins in the vineyard, continues in the distillation and is completed in the cellar, where time shapes the eaux-de-vie and elevates the pineaus. Today, the house opens a new stage: an ambitious collection blending exceptional cognacs, expressive pineaus, ultra-premium cuvees and limited editions.
