Domaine La Suffrène: The Soul of Bandol Between Tradition and Modernity

Domaine La Suffrène is above all a family adventure, passed down from generation to generation in the heart of Provence. Anchored in the commune of La Cadière d’Azur and its neighboring villages, the estate continues a long winegrowing tradition while bringing a modern and responsible vision. Each generation has contributed with passion, ensuring continuity and a strong identity.

Respectful and Certified Viticulture

Covering 60 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, Domaine La Suffrène benefits from a privileged terroir shaped by the proximity of the sea and the Mediterranean sun. For more than 15 years, the estate has practiced sustainable viticulture, attentive to natural balance.

These virtuous practices have been rewarded with:

  • HVE Level 3 certification in 2019.
  • Conversion to organic farming, officially certified starting with the 2021 vintage.

This approach illustrates the estate’s commitment to sustainable viticulture, respectful of biodiversity and natural heritage.

The Exceptional Terroir of Bandol

The vineyard of Domaine La Suffrène is divided into several plots across Castellet, La Cadière d’Azur, and neighboring villages. These clay-limestone soils, bathed in sunshine and refreshed by sea breezes, provide ideal conditions for the full expression of Bandol’s emblematic grape variety: Mourvèdre.

This unique microclimate, combined with know-how passed down through generations, allows the creation of powerful, elegant wines with excellent aging potential.

A Human and Authentic Story

The estate carries the imprint of its key figures, from Fortuné Piche, who devoted his life to the vineyard, to Cédric Gravier, the current winegrower and owner. Today, he embodies both the continuity and the future of Domaine La Suffrène, combining respect for tradition with an openness to the world.

With a forward-looking vision, Cédric highlights not only the wines but also the olive oil produced on the estate, a true reflection of the richness of the Provençal terroir.

The Wines of Domaine La Suffrène

The production is structured around several ranges that showcase the diversity of the terroir:

AOC Bandol – Tradition Range: emblematic reds, whites, and rosés.
