Domaine Justin – Four Generations of Winemaking Excellence in Savoie
A Family Estate Rooted in Tradition. Located in the heart of the Jongieux cru, Domaine Justin is a family-owned estate passed down through four generations. Spanning the communes of Jongieux, Billième, Saint-Jean-de-Chevelu, and Yenne, it has become a benchmark for fine Savoie wines. Here, the vines thrive between lakes and mountains on sunlit clay-limestone slopes, producing exceptional crus — Jongieux, Marestel, and Monthoux — synonymous with authenticity and finesse.
A Unique Terroir Balancing Tradition and Innovation
Nestled in the Combe de Billième, at the heart of the Savoie vineyard, the estate masterfully combines respect for the land with precise viticulture. Natural grassing, manual leaf thinning, and green harvesting ensure controlled yields and perfect grape maturity. The wines are aged slowly in stainless steel vats to preserve fruit purity and reveal the aromatic richness of the Savoyard terroir.
A Century-Old Family Legacy
The story begins with Antoine Justin, a visionary pioneer of the Touvière hillside. By the late 19th century, he delivered his wines to Chambéry, crossing the Col du Chat with a horse-drawn cart full of barrels. His son Eugène improved winemaking techniques, expanded the estate, and made Roussette de Savoie famous — winning gold in Paris in the 1950s. After the war, René Justin took over with his wife Andrée and sister Gabrielle, modernizing the operation. Their son Guy expanded the vineyards in the 1970s, introduced full grassing, and revived estate bottling. Today, Emmanuelle Justin, daughter of Guy and Yvonne, continues the legacy with her refined sensory approach and dedication to the land. Since 2019, Arnaud Bellet, a long-time collaborator, has joined the management, steering the estate toward certified sustainable viticulture (HVE – High Environmental Value).
A Diverse and Harmonious Vineyard
The Domaine covers 11.5 hectares across four communes. The vineyard is composed of 70% Altesse — Savoie’s noble grape — and 30% red and white varietals: Jacquère, Mondeuse, Pinot Noir, and Gamay. All wines are produced under AOC classification, ensuring authenticity and a deep connection to the Savoyard soil.
